Donald W. Means,  of Surprise,  Arizona,  and formerly of Des Moines,  Iowa,  passed away on March 24, 2016





Don started his career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Des Moines, Iowa.   He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Twyla Hinneberg

Twyla Hinneberg,  age 91,  of Ortonville, Minnesota,  passed away March 26, 2016.

Twyla’s life long career was with NW Bell Telephone Company where she retired in 1981 with 32 years of service.   She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Western Plains Club and in 1987 Twyla received the President’s Award from the Telephone Pioneers for her idea of the Hug-A-Bear.

Vernyce “Verny” A. Ellickson

Vernyce “Verny” A. Ellickson,  age 72,  of Clear Lake, Iowa, and previously of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016.

Verny started with Northwestern Bell in East Grand Forks, MN.  After a promotion to Supervisor of Business Marketing with the telephone company, she was asked to represent Northwestern Bell on the Divestiture Contract Task Force at AT&T headquarters in Morristown, NJ.  After ten months in New Jersey and New York, she accepted a promotion for the same positon at AT&T in Des Moines.  After the Iowa office closed, she and Jim moved to Chicago, where they retired from AT&T and moved to Clear Lake, IA. Verny worked for the Clear Lake Telephone Company before opening a health food business during retirement.
