Leona S. Jensen,  age 89,  of Newell, Iowa,  passed away April 15, 2018.

Leona was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone in Storm Lake, Spencer and Sioux City from December 1947 to January 1984.

Eugene “Gene” Renner

Eugene “Gene” Renner,  age 83,  of Grand Rapids, Minnesota,  passed away April 13, 2018.

Gene’s work with AT&T took him first to Minot, ND.  A transfer in 1962 with Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. brought Gene and his family to Rochester, MN.  A teaching position with NW Bell moved the family to New Hope, MN for the next 3 years.  In 1972, a job offer of Central Office Supervisor with NW Bell moved the family to Grand Rapids, MN. There, Gene and Lenice achieved their goal of raising a family in a small northern Minnesota town.  After 31 years, he retired from Qwest Communications, at age 55.

Francis Eugene Weniger

Francis Eugene Weniger,  age 93,  of Sioux Falls and previously of Yankton, South Dakota,  passed away April 11, 2018.

After returning home from WWI, he met and married Edith Arlene Stone of White Lake SD.  They moved to Yankton and both worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone.  “Fran and Arlene” moved with “Ma Bell” to Sioux Falls in the 1970s, where they made many new friends, and finished their careers with the telephone company.  They were both charter members of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
