Robert “Bob” Montgomery XIII

Robert “Bob” John James Montgomery XIII,  age 92,  of Tioga, North Dakota,  passed away December 9, 2018.

The 1952 Tioga oil boom brought Bob and Helen to Tioga, where Bob worked as a telephone installer/technician.  Bob retired after 35 years of working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.  He installed the 1000th telephone in Tioga, July 1958.

Elton Menard

Elton J. Menard,  age 71,  of Sandstone, Minnesota,  passed away December 6, 2018.

Elton Joseph Menard

Elton was an electrical engineer and a circuit design supervisor by trade. He worked at a variety of different places throughout the years, which included Northwestern Bell, AT&T and Qwest. “Elton worked the Downtown St Paul Toll, the SARTS test center in St Paul and CPC Minneapolis.”

Patricia Gilbert

Patricia L. Gilbert, age 68, of New Hampton, Iowa, passed away November 21, 2018.

Pat moved to Des Moines and took a telephone operator position with the Bell Telephone company in 1970, which later became AT&T. She spent 33 years with the company working in the Des Moines, IA, Rockford, IL, and Kansas City, MO offices. While living in Des Moines, she was an active member of the AT&T Clown Group, and would go around putting smiles on children’s faces. She also wrote and published an internal newspaper for the entire company while working at AT&T.
