Frances Ruud

Frances Ruud, age 82, od Ocala, Florida, previously Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away April 27, 2023.

While attending high school in Sioux Falls Fran began working part time for Northwestern Bell. She moved to Minneapolis, and later back to Sioux Falls while continuing to work Northwestern Bell. Fran retired in 1995. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Tim “Lovey” Lovaasen

Tim “:”Lovey” Lovaasen, age 75, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away April 5, 2023.

Tim worked for over 37 years for NW Bell, US west, and quest. He was a proud member of CWA-local 7200, serving in many positions through the years including president. Tim served the city of Mound as a councilman, and also mayor from the years 1974-1980. Tim also had a governor appointed position with the Metropolitan Airport Commission from 1985 – 1993. Tim retired from Qwest as a CDT in Minneapolis.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held on May 7, 2023, at the: Bloomington Event Center 1114 American Blvd. W., Bloomington, MN 55420. 1 PM social. 2 PM service. After the service, beer and food will be served and stories will be shared. Tim wanted a party not a funeral. Music will be played in his honor! Don’t forget to wear a hockey or softball jersey if you have one. Lovey would like that!

Denise Vierling

Denise Vierling, 64, of Prescott, Wisconsin, previously of St. Paul, MN and Pleasant Hill, IA, passed away April 12, 2023.

Denise worked at CenturyLink for over 29 years in St. Paul, MN and Pleasant Hill, IA, before moving to Prescott, WI. She retired in 2018. Denise was a member of the Communication Worker of America

Duane Hoyer

Duane Hoyer, 89, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away April 12, 2023

Duane started on the line crew with NW Bell Telephone in Graceville, MN. In 1959 he transferred to Appleton, MN as the local Manager with US West and to St. Cloud in 1966 as outside engineer before settling in Rochester in 1977 as a Fiber-Optic engineer. He later retired in 1990 after 33 years of service.
