Lawrence “Dan” Wilhelmson, age 85, of Dickinson, North Dakota, passed away May 7th, 2024.
After graduating from Staples High School in 1957, Dan embarked on a journey leading him to various telecommunications industry roles. His career path began as a lineman climbing telephone poles before his honorable service in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he received commendations for his selfless dedication to his country.
Dan’s professional journey culminated in a 28-year tenure with Northwestern Bell (later US West), where he held several positions of increasing responsibility. His dedication and leadership skills were further honed when he transitioned to Consolidated Telephone Cooperative (CTC) as CEO and General Manager, guiding the company to new heights and earning industry recognition.
Donald S. Kostelecky, 84, of Mesa, Arizona, previously of Bismark, North Dakota and Bozeman, Montana, passed away April 29, 2024.
The majority of Don’s working years were dedicated to the telecommunication career field as a skilled technician and system services for Western Electric, Northwestern Bell Telephone and the Telecommunication Systems Planning office for the State of Montana.

Vivian Stugelmeyer, 91, of Valley City, North Dakota, passed away April 20,2024.
Following her graduation from Valley City High School Vivian started with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator from 1951 to 1953. January 25, 1953, Vivian was united in marriage to Roland “Stugie” Stugelmeyer at Camp Gordon, Georgia. Following Stugie’s discharge from the United Stated Army, the couple returned to Valley City where they made their home. Vivian returned to her career as an operator which led to opportunities with Northwestern Bell, Wisconsin Telephone Company and AT&T in Valley City, Fargo, North Dakota, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Jamestown, North Dakota. She retired from AT&T in 1984.

Cornelia “Connie” Mayer, 93 of Bismark, North Dakota, passed away April 15, 2024.
Connie worked for 20 years at Northwestern Bell (Quest) as a telephone operator and later as a drafts-person.

Elaine Majerus, 96, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away March 23, 2024.
Elaine started working at Northwestern Bell Telephone in Minneapolis, MN. She was united in marriage to Ralph Majerus in Minneapolis, MN on April 14, 1947. After a short time living in St. Cloud, they moved to Grand Forks, ND in 1948 where Ralph started his career at Great Northern Railroad and Elaine was able to continue her employment with Northwestern Bell Telephone. Together they raised five children in Grand Forks, ND. In 1971, Elaine and Ralph moved to Fargo, ND where both were able to transfer their employment. Elaine retired in 1987.

Terry Wayne Saville, age 76 of West Fargo, North Dakota, passed away March 7, 2024.
Terry worked in communications at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, AT&T, and eventually US West.
Janice Marie Elis, 74 of Otsego, formerly of Grand Forks and Fargo, North Dakota, passed away March 6, 2024.
Janice dedicated forty years of her life to her career as a phone operator until her well-deserved retirement. She worked as an Outside Plant Engineer. Her dedication and professionalism left a lasting mark on those she worked with.
